Re: Aerotech F21W’s and G55W’s

The reason I’m asking is because the NAR requires motors to be on the certified list if being used for record attempts.

Re: Aerotech F21W’s and G55W’s

Hi Greg, Just to clarify, these motors can then be used at a CAR-ACF launch based on the qualifications you’ve stated above. Does this then permit them to be used for altitude record attempts? Will these motors be recognized officially for altitude record attempts even though they’re now uncertified?

Re: Aerotech F21W’s and G55W’s

Hi David, Thanks for looking into this for me. I see the NAR had indeed certified the G55W at one time; check out the link at: http://www.thrustcurve.org/motorsearch.jsp?id=91 It has been decertified since December 31, 2007. Interestingly the current CAR-ACF G model rocket altitude record was done o...

Aerotech F21W’s and G55W’s

I have some Aerotech F21W’s and G55W’s in my rocket motor inventory.

1. Can I fly these motors at a CAR-ACF sanctioned launch?
2. Can I use these motors for CAR-ACF altitude record attempts? Will they be recognized?

Re: CAR Insurance and Model Rocket activity

I'm leading a group of 10-12 year olds in a model rocketry launch this summer. The size of the group will be in the 30-35 range. If the landowner asks for insurance, is is possible to get this through the CAR/ACF?

That's unfortunate; however I can certainly understand CAR's position. At least with our own (as in CAR's) launches, the entire launch operations are under our control and jurisdiction, and we're completely covered insurance-wise---which is all to our greater benefit for the hobby. :D

Bruce,

I agree, today's motor selection for color, effects, sound, fire and smoke would make for an incredible, nay AWESOME, demonstration!

Tim,

Would CAR insurance even need to be used for an airshow? Would not the airshow insurance coverage cover everything flying at the event, including HPR rocketry?

HPR Demo at an Airshow

Have any individuals ever done any high-power rocketry demonstrations at local airshows? I think some really shock and awe demos would do wonders at promoting our favorite hobby, plus be excellent advertising for CAR--- particularly for recruitment purposes. Your thoughts?
