Posted by Greg Dietlein on February 01, 2015A belated Happy New Year On behalf of the new CAR/ACF Executive and Board of Directors, I'd like to say hello.
First of all, I would like to thank Pierre, out going president and Tim Rempel, out going Secretary Treasurer. Both have spent many years active in our organization serving with hard work and dedication. We are very much the better for having them in our ranks. Pierre, who is on leave due to a personal matter, has said he wished to get involved again in the future. Tim will be refocusing his efforts on Rock Lake. A very big thank you to both for their many years of hard work.
I would also like to thank Greg Parent. Greg decided not to run again this year. Greg also brought to light areas where we can work to improve our organisation. many of these items will be on our list for upcoming efforts. He is leaving the Ontario region with a new club as part of the CAR/ACF family. A very big thank you to Greg as well.
The past Directors and BOD were very hard workers. They quietly went about business getting some amazing things done.
Some major accomplishments during Pierre's Presidency:
- Revised and updated the CAR/ACF exams - currently with Transport Canada
- Brought the massive task of producing a documented RSO training program together - going to Transport Canada shortly
- Had the requirement for a new bylaws written bestowed upon them - Bylaws are written, voted upon and submitted to the federal government. More to come on this soon.
- Membership in the CAR/ACF has nearly doubled.
- We have seen three new clubs join us in Alberta and in Ontario.
Along with this, all the day to day tasks that kept us all very busy.
I personally want to thank each and every person who helped in all this and so much more that was accomplished.
Looking to the future,
With growth in membership, growth in affiliated clubs, completion of several long standing tasks, the door is open to move forward in to the future. We will be discussing ideas and welcome input from our membership.
We will also be posting updates on BOD and Executive activities in the CAR/ACF forums. We invite everyone to peruse and participate. We will also try to increase public postings on our home page and work with others in sharing the news.

Tout d'abord, je tiens à remercier Pierre Laurendeau, président sortant et Tim Rempel, secrétaire-trésorier sortant. Travailleurs acharnés et dévoués, tous deux ont passé de nombreuses années au service de notre organisation. Nous sommes très heureux de les avoir dans nos rangs. Pierre, qui est en congé pour raison personnelle, a dit vouloir s’impliquer à nouveau dans le futur. Tim de son côté, concentrera ses efforts sur organisation de Rock Lake. Un grand merci à vous deux pour les nombreuses années de dur labeur.
Je tiens également à remercier Greg Parent. Greg a décidé de ne pas se représenter cette année. Greg a mis en lumière des domaines où nous pouvons travailler pour améliorer notre organisation. Beaucoup de ces points seront sur notre liste de choses à améliorer. Il quitte, en laissant la région de l'Ontario avec un nouveau club dans la famille du CAR/ACF. Un grand merci aussi à Greg.
Les précédents administrateurs et directeurs étaient des travailleurs acharnés. Discrètement, ils ont accompli des choses incroyables.
Certaines grandes réalisations au cours de la présidence de Pierre:
- Révisé et mettre à jour les examens du CAR / ACF - actuellement en révision par Transports Canada
- Complété l’énorme tâche de produire un programme complet de formation des RSO – sera envoyé sous peu à Transports Canada
- Avait l'obligation légale d’écrire de nouveaux règlements – les statuts sont rédigés, votés et soumis au gouvernement fédéral. Dossier à suivre.
- L’adhésion au CAR / ACF a presque doublée.
- Nous avons vu trois nouveaux clubs se joindre à nous en Alberta et en Ontario.
Parallèlement à cela, toutes les tâches de la vie quotidienne qui nous tiennent déjà très occupées.
Je tiens personnellement à remercier toutes les personnes qui ont contribué à tout cela et bien plus encore.
Tourné vers l’avenir,
Avec la croissance du nombre de membres, la croissance des clubs affiliés, achèvement de plusieurs tâches de longue durée, la porte est maintenant ouverte sur l'avenir. Nous pourrons discuter de nouvelles idées et les suggestions de nos membres sont les bienvenues.
Nous publierons également des mises à jour sur les activités de l’exécutif et du CA sur le forum du CAR / ACF. Nous vous invitons tous à les parcourir et à y participer. Nous allons également essayer d'augmenter l'affichage public sur la page d'accueil et travailler avec d'autres à partager les nouvelles.
