It is with great excitement that I am able to announce that Transport Canada has approved both the new RSO training program and a revised high power exam.

The RSO Training document brings RSO training into full alignment with federal requirements. It outlines training and recording of training as well as the final approval process. The process has taken many years to complete. Work by past presidents, executives, CRSOs, RSOs and BODs have played a real and important part towards the successful completion of this very important work.

The HP exam has updated as well as addresses concerns expressed by members over the years. It requires an updated study guide and conversion to a bilingual document. This is well in hand by the translation committee and will be made available very shortly.

Their work on these documents proved to be decisively critical.

C’est avec le plus grand des plaisirs que je vous annonce que Transport Canada a approuvé le nouveau programme de formation RSO et la version révisée de l’examen Haute puissance.

Le nouveau document permet au programme de formation RSO de répondre aux exigences du gouvernement fédéral. On y décrit les étapes de formation, la consignation des activités réalisées ainsi que le processus d’approbation finale. L’élaboration de ce programme a pris de nombreuses années. Le travail des anciens présidents, des administrateurs, des CRSO, des RSO et des BOD a permis de mener à bien cet important projet.

L’examen Haute Puissance a été mis à jour pour répondre aux inquiétudes exprimées par les membres au cours des années. Conséquemment le guide de formation doit être révisé et se présentera sous forme d’un document bilingue. Le comité de traduction a entrepris le travail et les documents seront disponibles prochainement.

Merci à toutes les personnes qui ont collaboré à la réalisation de ces révisions avec des mentions spéciales à :

M. Pierre Laurendeau, ancien président du CAR/ACF et ancien président du comité RSO
M. Angelo Castellano, ancien président du CAR/ACF.

Leur contribution à la réalisation de ces documents a été des plus significatives.

The TRA and NAR have issued a Flight Restriction impacting CTI VMAX motors. Details can be found here: http://www.tripoli.org/CTI-VMAX-motor-flight-restrictions

The CAR/ACF has not issued any restrictions with respect to VMAX motors at this point, but we will be closely monitoring the situation and may take further action if the situation warrants.
